How to Arrange your D.I.Y. Mystery Kit

The East Austin Succulent mini DIY mystery kits come with a container, bag of our EAS succulent gold soil, mystery topdressing, and a mystery plant which is everything you need to make a beautifully finished potted plant. This How-To should work for all mystery kits. Some of our other kits come with a crystal or a planter friend that can be added at the end as an accent piece. 

If you receive a succulent or sedum: 

Step 1: Lay out supplies.

Step 2: Place some soil in container.

Step 3: Pull out your new plant (if in plastic pot) lightly break up root zone and place in container.

Step 4: Fill the container with soil and lightly pack the soil around the plant.

Step 5: Place top dressing on top of soil to give your potted plant a finished look.

Step 6: Enjoy your new plant friend!

If you receive a cactus:

Step 1: Lay out supplies.

Step 2: Place some soil in container.

Step 3: Pull out your new plant carefully. We use plastic kitchen tongs pictured below. Lightly break up root zone and place in container.

Step 4: Fill the container with soil and lightly pack the soil around the plant careful to not get poked by spines.

Step 5: Place top dressing on top of soil to give your potted plant a finished look.

Step 6: Enjoy your new plant friend!
